Although eye exercises do not correct refractive errors such as short-sightedness or long-sightedness, they can help reduce eye strain, improve comfort and maintain better eye health.<\/p>\n<p>At INOF, we recommend incorporating small visual habits that make a difference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do eye exercises really work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eye exercises do not replace medical treatment or eliminate the need for glasses, but they can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce eye strain<\/li>\n<li>Improve visual concentration<\/li>\n<li>Promote eye lubrication<\/li>\n<li>Reduce discomfort associated with screen use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They are particularly useful in cases of digital eye strain.<\/p>\n<p>1. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Blink more frequently<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When we use screens, we unconsciously blink less, which causes dry eyes.<\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Consciously blink for a few seconds every so often.<\/p>\n<p>This improves hydration and reduces irritation.<\/p>\n<p>2. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Eye relaxation exercises<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Staring for long periods causes eye strain.<\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Close your eyes for 20\u201330 seconds or gently cover them with your hands (without pressing).<\/p>\n<p>This helps to relax the eye muscles.<\/p>\n<p>3. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The 20-20-20 Rule<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Every 20 minutes, look at an object 6 metres away for 20 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Reduces eye strain and improves focus.<\/p>\n<p>4. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Switching focus (near-far)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Look at a nearby object and then a distant one, alternating several times.<\/p>\n<p>Stimulates focusing flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>5. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lubricate your eyes<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Use artificial tears if your eyes feel dry or stinging.<\/p>\n<p>Improves vision quality and eye comfort.<\/p>\n<p>6. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Apply heat to your eyes<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<p>Place a warm compress over your eyes for a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Promotes natural lubrication.<\/p>\n<p>7. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Adjust distances and ergonomics<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What to do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep the screen about 50\u201360 cm away<\/li>\n<li>Adjust the height to eye level<\/li>\n<li>Avoid glare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reduces eye strain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When are these exercises not enough?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you experience symptoms such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequent blurred vision<\/li>\n<li>Eye pain or headaches<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty focusing<\/li>\n<li>Constant fatigue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is important to have an eye test.<\/p>\n<p>Look after your eyesight with professionals<\/p>\n<p>At INOF, we carry out a comprehensive assessment of your visual health to offer the best solution.<\/p>\n<p>Book an eye test to improve your visual quality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spending long hours in front of screens, visual stress or a lack of rest can affect your visual comfort in everyday life.
