The main cause for this is the wet type of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in the elderly, or another type of inflammation of the retinal layers in younger people (such as a neovascular macular membrane in patients with high myopia).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Sudden appearance of spots, marks or moving lines&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1508697267776-baf9856d-26f6&#8243;][vc_column_text]Accompanied at times with seeing &#8220;lights or flashes&#8221;- the pupil needs to be dilated to properly assess the entire retina.
